Medieval color choices were not just aesthetic but often carried symbolic meanings and were influenced by the availability of natural materials. The combination of these colors in textiles, clothing, and art created a visual tapestry that reflected the social, cultural, and religious values of the time, providing a rich and complex palette which is how I made my color decisions for this collection.
Regarding the mood board, it served as an initial reference to establish the ambiance for the collection.

The "Heart & Sleeve" collection masterfully encapsulates the spirit of medieval times, reimagined with a contemporary flair. Drawing inspiration from the era's symbolism, color connotations, and architectural motifs, this collection offers a captivating journey into the past while embracing the present.
The color palette of "Heart and Sleeve" is an homage to the profound symbolism that characterized medieval times. Rich, regal hues, such as deep crimson, emerald green, and royal blue, are prominently featured. These colors were chosen not only for their visual appeal but also for their historical significance, reflecting power, nobility, and romanticism.
Moreover, the collection integrates architectural features reminiscent of medieval castles and cathedrals. Intricate patterns, reminiscent of Gothic arches and stained glass windows, adorn the fabrics and accessories, infusing each piece with a touch of historical opulence and contemporary style. These architectural inspirations provide a unique and visually striking element that sets "Heart and Sleeve" apart along with giving a sense of haute couture.

“Edge of Classic” fashion illustration is a representation of two different styles an edgy style and the other a classic style with digitally printed midi skirt. The edgy version speaks to materials such as sheer fabrics and ribbed leather jackets. While the refine and staple items speak to the classic side. The pattern was hand rendered then digitized.
"Umbrella" emerged from a project brief presented to our fashion illustration class by Somerset Collection as a sponsored endeavor. Our primary goal was to craft a digital illustration fusion that captured the essence of Detroit and represented a brand from the mall. For this project, I opted for Burberry, my personal favorite among the high end selection. The pattern in the left hand corner of the mood board is of my creation using India ink to resemble rain and is the overlay on top of the illustration.
“Telephone Booth” is inspired by the red telephone booths seen across the UK. The design is the windows from a phone booth, then is abstracted and turned horizontal as the central design seen across the man's coat. The coat is made out of brown , white, and black tweed fabric. Whereas the design is needle felted with a golden color wool and appliqued with black linen.
From the project brief I was instructed to create 6 patterns in Illustrator and the two texture mappings. The physical pattern then would be executed with the use of automotive leather using techniques such as quilting, laser cutting, perforation, and silk screen.
"AMX30” represents an exploration of automotive textiles application on car seats.
